About This Game 1 - General Warning For some people (1 in 500) becoming the last survivor (the kapaye) of an extinct civilization and be chosen to cross space in search of a new habitable planet may cause a dissociative identity disorder. We recommend that you consult your doctor to protect yourself from any psychological risk before entering Far Beyond: A space odyssey. 2 - Efforts and Repetitive StressEstablish a travel strategy in hyperspace, schedule refueling points on the galactic map, scan and extract resources via the holoviewer, monitor the autonomy level of the spaceship in order to maintain the oxygen recycling system on and repair the extravehicular probes can put your body and your mind to a severe test. If you experience any of these symptoms (high sensitivity to the autonomy alarm, pain in your arms when you scan a planet, annoyance when you miss a deployment to extract resources or shame when you break down) please only blame yourself (you are just bad).3 - Use and Maintenance Of Embedded EquipmentTo help you in your journey, two extravehicular probes, Columbus and Digger Master await you in the hangars of the spaceship at the back of command bay. Here are some recommendations to reduce the risk of damaging equipment:Deploy the probes only to detect, scan and extract resources on hostile planets.Perform regular and careful maintenance of the probes to protect yourself from the risk of failure.Remember to recycle your used parts. We recommend that you periodically upgrade the parts that compose the probes in order to improve wear resistance and increase their performance. We do not refund the probes forgotten in a planetary system.4 - Responsibilities, Failures and DeathsBy agreeing to take part in this lone interstellar travel, you agree to take on the role of the Kapaye, you agree to take the risk of failing, you agree to be alone with your responsibilities, you agree to be alone facing death. Naturally we clear ourselves of any adverse effects that the experience of a slow and repeated death can have on your nervous system.Far Beyond: A space odyssey is a peaceful space survival Virtual Reality game combining strategy, reflection, resource management and human scale crafting. In Far Beyond: A space odyssey, you play the last survivor of your civilization. The last chance of survival you have is to take command of the Genesis, a spaceship on its last legs "supposed" to allow you to go across the universe and reach your one and only goal: a distant habitable planet, primitive and without any trace of intelligent life called "Earth".Equipped with two mechanically capricious probes, Columbus and Digger Master, you have to cross the space, juggling between refueling and recharging the battery, extracting ore, repairing damages and planning your moves in hyperspace. You will have only one goal: reach a distant habitable planet in order to deploy the E.D.E.N project, a demographic bomb composed of genomes and matrices of your lost civilization, to give birth to a new colony. Will you survive long enough to bring back your civilization to life far beyond your own galaxy?A game designed and developed from A to Z for VRA perfectly comfortable virtual reality experience. When they have to explain how a courtroom operates from a video back in 1970? The talking in this game is that bad. I just can't get past it. Sorry devs. Please PLEASE get some real voice acting.. this game is amazing i bought it for just 5 euro in a sale and it is defenitely worth it. the grind is reall but if you like the grind you will love this game. there are some bugs i found one where my engine wouldn't heat anymore awesome but also where i wouldn't be able to pick up my tools or items glitching they are returned into you ships inventory but it is more a solution to the symptome and not the problem.now the good stuff. i can play this for hours. it has AAA graphics and it runs smooth (turn sampling ingame up to 200) it is a cross between disassembly VR and FTL. you need to maintain your ship mine for fuel and ore(looks like resource gathering in mass effect). there are no enemy's only time is your enemy and it has you on the edge of your seat. the developers bailed i can't even find if the company still excist so this is the game and it will never be anything more but for 5 bucks in a sale its a must buy.sorry for the bad english. This game is the start of a perfect game that I would love. The idea, the mechanics, and the story are great. I only wish there was more to come. Sadly, the developers split ways. Here's hope the only developer left will release new, or addons to the game. Wonderful game, and I will be watching this company.. If you have a 3rd camera for Oculus Touch this game is great! The developer's updating regularly to please the new Touch audience but don't try to play without adequate room-scale hardware (3rd camera).. Very nice game.A few bugs and few instructions on what to do, but overall it has a lot of potential.. game is unplayable if you have a small play area. A superb game. So far, I've only completed the game once, on Easy, but I'm keen to go back for more. The game puts you in charge of flying across space to rebuild a destroyed civilisation. You will spend most of your time scanning and mining alien planets for fuel, and repairing the two probes that you use to do that; you will also navigate across a star map in seach of rest systems and the end goal. The game is structured as a roguelike (c.f. FTL: Faster Than Light), which means the map is randomly generated each time and if you die, you have to start again from the beginning with a new map.The gameplay is intutive and fun - every run you learn from your mistakes and feel rewarded for doing so. The repair sections in particular make good use of the motion controls, although they can begin to feel repetitive after a while. The graphics are very impressive, and run well on my GTX 1070. The sense of scale you feel when repairing these gigantic space probes is particularly well done.Overall, this is a polished and engaging experience, and it has my wholehearted recommendation.. Ever wanted to be a Spacecraft Engineer but you are failing your Physics degree so doesn't look like it will happen any time soon? Blow all your money on Virtual Reality and then buy this game so you can pretend. It's simpler and easier than real Engineering but still gives you the satisfaction of being good at it.And if you are not good at it. Then you'll run out of fuel and Suffocate! :D. Dang this game is old. I had to dust it off my digital shelf. When I tried this at release date, i was slightly turned off because of the jagged edges. With my super quantum built computer and valve index, it is a true site to behold.Kidding aside. if you loved the scene with HAL 2000 and the astronaut in 2001 space odyssey, this game will get you so close to that feeling of being alone in space and trying to survive. I don't regret buying this long ago and I am so excited to play this on my 2080ti and vive pro.....(just finished my valve index order)Highly recommended!. More like Out There than FTL.But great game, great dev.Needed experience for Vive owners.
